Regulations on observations flights conducted under the Treaty on Open Skies
The Civil Aviation Authority have adopted Regulations on observations flights conducted under the Treaty on Open Skies.
The regulations will apply to state parties conducting observations flights in accordance with the Treaty on Open Skies, signed on 24 March 1990 by Member States of NATO and the Warsaw Pact. The Treaty entered into force on 1 January 2002.
Primarily the regulations state the notifications and designations Norway have given under the Treaty. Furthermore, the regulations maintain the general provisions in Article VI of the Treaty, that all observation aircraft shall be operated in accordance with the provisions of the Treaty and the flight plan, as well as the applicable air traffic regulations in Norway, cf. section 14.
The regulations have no consequence for other airspace users.
